Richard A. Stiegerwald

Richard A. Stiegerwald, also known as Pac-Man and grew up in Astoria, Queens, NY, passed away July 30, 2021. In Astoria he raised his children Lisa, Raymond, Richie, Dennis & Carrie. He was an avid fisherman, loved shooting pool, and also loved going to the beach after his busy week of driving a tractor trailer. As time went on he became a wonderful grandfather to Joseph, Amanda, Alexis, Raymond Jr., Richard, Zachary, Declan, and Lucas.

He was a little rough around the edges, but had a great sense of humor. Everyone who knew him grew to love him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 6:00 pm at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott with the Rev. Fr. James P. Serowik officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:30 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.

Sally Anne Kucko

Sally Anne Kucko of Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on July 3, 2021. Sally went home to be with her Lord and savior, as well as her two children Scott Kucko and Kelly Pratt. She leaves behind her adoring husband of 60 years, Robert Kucko, faithful son David Brian Kucko, loving grandchildren Derek Greco, Kelsey Greco, and Jaycob Kucko, as well as her siblings Bob (Sandy) Dwyer, Sue (Jack) Lucas, John (Shelley) Dwyer, Diane Dwyer, Rick (Luanne) Dwyer, her Sister-in-law Bernadine Carman, her Brother-in-law David (Peggy) Kucko.

Those who knew her would frequently refer to her as a saint. Sally dedicated her free time caring for others while volunteering at places like Mother Theresa’s Cupboard, Church of the Holy Family, participating in perpetual adoration, and aid for George F. Johnson children’s reading program. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church Endicott for 60 years, acting as a Eucharistic minister, a church council member, and ran the Thanksgiving Basket Program. Sally could be found in the kitchen, cooking, and baking when not extending her hand to others. Not many will argue that Sally could whip up the best desserts that she would happily share with anyone who crossed her path. Sally was an avid tennis player, playing up until her final days. You would only find Sally with a scowl on her face if the New York Yankees were losing a game, as she has been a lifelong fan. The world lost a bright light this week who will be greatly missed by not only her family and friends but her community as well.

A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church 207 Hayes Ave. Endicott, NY. Entombment will follow at Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday from 10:30 am until mass at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Sally may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.

Bernard Patrick Donlin Jr

Bernard Patrick Donlin Jr. (Pat), one of the biggest Yankee and Giant fans, passed away at Susquehanna Nursing Home on Thursday July 1, 2021 at the age of 96. He was predeceased by his parents Bernard P. Donlin Sr and Lillian Jaycox Donlin; his precious infant sister Jewel; his infant grandson and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his very loving wife of 72 years Mary Kscenics; his son Michael (Vivian); his daughter Jean (Richard Italiano); four grandchildren Patrick Donlin, Christopher Donlin, Rita Italiano and Joe Italiano, 7 ½ great-grandchildren; his brother Bob (Jean) and several other brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and his sweet yorkie, Misty.

He proudly served in the US Army, 88th Division during WW II in N. Africa and Italy, earning a Bronze Star and several commendations. He was a member of the International Painters Union, Local #103, beginning his career in 1945 and quickly became well known for his strong work ethic and skill. Through the years he worked on many large buildings, churches and schools throughout the community. Pat enjoyed many sports and participated in baseball and horseshoes well into his eighties. He was a well known prankster who worked and played with enthusiasm. Pat lived and died with bravery and courage.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all who cared for him especially UHS and Susquehanna Nursing Home. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Charles (Chuck) R. Henneman

Charles (Chuck) R. Henneman, 81 of Vestal, NY, passed away peacefully at sunrise on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 with his daughters by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Elma (Muth) Henneman and his sister Ann Kibling

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce (Bunganich) Henneman; two daughters Brenda Henneman Langdon, Denise Henneman Houseknecht; three grandchildren Melissa and Christopher DePugh, Austin Bartlett; his sister Jane Cannon; his brothers Olin (Ruth) Henneman, Edward (Diana) Henneman; brother-in-law Lou Kibling, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him.

Chuck was a graduate of Union Endicott High School, Class of 1957. He was proud to be a West Endicott kid, writing articles full of memories he cherished growing up in West Endicott. With such fond memories of his childhood and classmates, Chuck worked tirelessly, with the help of close friends, to throw a 60th Class of 57’ Reunion for a 100+ classmates. A fabulous night was held by all.

A hard-working man, Chuck was a carpenter, a craftsman, a foreman/superintendent working for Nezlek, Sarkisian, and D&R Jones Construction companies. His beautiful, detailed work can be seen throughout the County and beyond. The “E.J.” homes and roofs he built are still standing. Chuck’s home has a beautifully crafted front porch that still receives compliments on the amazement of his work.

Chuck was proudly a Mason, sponsored by his father Earl and cousin Russ Henneman in 1961. He then moved on to the Kalurah Shrine, working his way up the chairs to become Illustrious Potentate 2000. Chuck loved being involved in every part of being a Shriner especially events that brought a smile to the children’s’ faces, the Shrine Circus and Easter and Christmas parties.

Chuck loved the old west, reading many novels about the life and times of the American cowboy. He could always be seen wearing his ten-gallon hat whenever he went out. His dream came true when he took a trail ride out west, cooking meals over the campfire. His Trail Guide was so impressed with Chuck’s knowledge of the old west, he extended the trail ride for hours giving Chuck a memory that would last a lifetime. Country music was his favorite, with Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, and Hank Williams playing throughout the house. 

A big child at heart, Chuck loved laughing and having fun, playing board games, and watching Disney movies with his family.  You could always hear him laugh and knew right where he was in any theater! With his daughters, he excitedly searched Disney World for his favorite characters, Chip & Dale and Goofy to get their pictures. He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing were his favorites. 

Of his many accomplishments, Chuck valued being a Dad and Dido, as his grandkids called him, the most. Nothing gave him more happiness than to be with his girls and grandchildren. He always had time to listen, share words of wisdom, his laughter and love, and join in on the crazy things they would do. He loved holiday feasts with Austin.

An athlete all his life, Chuck played basketball and softball with guys half his age. On weekends he rooted for his favorite teams, the NY Giants, NY Yankees and LA Lakers; Wilt Chamberlain was his favorite player. However, these teams didn’t compare to the teams his grandchildren would play on. Each game Dido could be found on the sidelines cheering and screaming encouragement. Watching Melissa play field hockey, at times he would find himself halfway on the field with excitement.

Every week, as Christopher’s biggest fan, Dido could always be found sitting on the soccer sidelines center field an hour before the game began. His voice could be heard across the field.  The boys loved him and made Dido an honorary member of the team. 

Chuck loved life, loved his family, and touched many lives with his laughter, good nature, willingness to help others, and zest for life. Chuck could sit by a stranger for five minutes and become best friends. Everyone who met him, loved Chuck. He will be deeply missed by his devoted family and friends.

“Who’s gonna fill their shoes? Who’s gonna stand that tall?”

 Funeral services will be held Friday June 25th at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Nathaniel Choma, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Thursday June 24th from 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM. The Rev. Nathaniel Choma will hold a Parastas Service Thursday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to St. Mary’s Orthodox Church 1917 Jenkins St. Endicott, NY 13760.

Charles E. Sarnoski

Charles E. Sarnoski, 90, formerly of Johnson City, NY passed away on Father’s Day, June 20th, 2021.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Annette (Rollo) Sarnoski, his children; Charles R. Sarnoski (Theresa), Renae K. Sarnoski (Nancy Kleinsmith), Michael J. Sarnoski (Judith). Grandchildren; Caitlyn (Myrian), Michael (Kathie), and Victoria Sarnoski, and Great Grandchild, Bella Sarnoski.

Chuck was a lifelong member of St. Johns’ Ukrainian Orthodox Church and an Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He was employed by IBM as a machine maintenance technician.

Chuck was an avid golfer and gardener and loved to tell a good joke.  In his later years, he loved entertaining the people at Yesteryears with his wry sense of humor.  He had a lifelong love of airplanes, and in his younger days, he owned and flew his own. 

The family would like to thank his Aide, Melissa Anderson Marble who’s compassionate care allowed Chuck to stay in his home as long as possible.

The family would also like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at the Oxford Veterans Home Pine Unit, where he spent his last days.  Special thanks to Elena Hall, MSW, for her care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please share a joke and a smile with someone who needs it today.  “Bula Bula Dad”.

Anthony (Nino) Alimonti

Anthony (Nino) Alimonti, died peacefully after a long illness, on June 12, 2021, surrounded by family. He’s pre-deceased by his parents, Angelo & Frances, brother, Joe, sister & brother-in-law Addie & Joe. He’s survived by sister & brother-in-law Rose & Joe, sisters, Francine, Angela, and ‘brother’, Doug, nieces, Pat, Fran, and several other nieces & nephews, and great-nieces and nephews…..and Doobie (Arf, Arf)!

Nino was a UEHS & college football star, an entrepreneur, concert promoter, patented inventor, and a US Army Veteran who served in Viet Nam.  His life will be celebrated with a private Military service in the days ahead.

He is Much Loved and will be Much Missed.

John Doig Anderson

John Doig Anderson, 91, passed away on June 15, 2021 in Binghamton, New York.  

John was born in Upminster, England to Albert and Isabel on December 31, 1929.  He graduated from the University of London and had a brief tour as an officer in the Royal Air Force.  

John is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of nearly 65 years. He was the proud father of three sons:  Paul, wife Jane, and granddaughters Kate and Claire; Stephen, fiancé, Ketevan; and Olin, wife Dianne, granddaughter Lara and grandson Lucas. John leaves behind nieces and nephews around the world who remember their uncle with great fondness.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Ena, and his brother Kenneth.

After working as an aeronautical engineer in England, he emigrated with his family to the United States in 1967 when he joined Link Flight Simulation Division (Singer Corporation) in Binghamton, New York.  John was actively involved in the marketing and sale of simulators and as part of his responsibilities, he was one of the first American businessmen to visit China.  He later transferred to General Electric in Daytona Beach where he continued his passion for aviation simulation.  He later started his own firm where he was a consultant to a UK-based simulation firm. Above all, John loved bringing his international clients back to the house to enjoy Margaret’s wonderful dinners.  These occasions over the many years provided many wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.

Upon retirement, John served as President of his Home Owners Association where he earned tremendous respect for his leadership and many improvements to the community.  He had a zeal for travel, arising from his early days as a mountaineer, which evolved into a passion for cruising the Caribbean with Margaret.  John had an enduring love of science, history, philosophy, and nature and was frequently found in his garden taking care of his much-prized orchids.  To his family, John was always the “Brain of Britain” who always had the answer to any question.  After spending more than 30 years in Ormond Beach, Florida, he and Margaret decided in 2019 to return to Binghamton to be closer to their family.

Robert Angelo (Moose) Musa

Robert Angelo (Moose) Musa, 94 of Endicott, NY (formerly of Lake Norman, NC) went to be with the Lord, Tuesday June 15, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Dominick and Anna Musa; his sister Florence (Pat) Fiorelli and his sister-in-law Patricia Musa. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Laura; his daughter Debra Musa-Cross and her husband Philip; his son David Musa and his wife Elsa; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Marconi and Phyllis (George) Koury; his brother Richard Musa; his sisters-in-law Jeri Faggioni, Faye Coonick and Penny Sheehan; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob grew up on the north side of Endicott and worked at Battaglini’s Bakery as a young man before joining the US Navy and serving in World War II. He retired from IBM and was a former member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Morrisville, NC. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus member, Assembly #2417 of Denver, NC and a current member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, NY. He enjoyed Civil War memorabilia as well as reading maps and volunteering at the North Carolina Visitor’s Center assisting people with directions. He was an avid Purple Martin enthusiast who established and maintained Martin Colonies every year with his friend Dr. Bill Green. He also loved spending time at his brothers cottage in Sylvan Beach, NY. Bob was friendly and outgoing with a great sense of humor, making him the life of the party.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday June 19th at St. Anthony of Padua Church 300 Odell Ave. Endicott, NY at 11:30 AM. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his memory to Mercy House 212 N. Daniel “Born Freedom” Jackson, 51 of Endicott, passed away June 9, 2021 at his home. He was born at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Daniel was predeceased by his fiancé, Nicole Dyer. He is survived by his father Daniel Clansy (Linda) of College Park, GA.; his mother Roseline Jackson (Leroy) of Endicott, NY.; his son Tyrrell Harper; daughter Shatoya Gibson, both of Brooklyn, NY.; his dog Shooter Jackson; his grandchildren Tremont Weaver, Timothy Robinson and Michael Douglas; his brothers and sisters Anthony Jackson, David Cheeseboro, Rashaun Cheeseboro, Jermaine Cheeseboro, all of Brooklyn, NY, Deshay Chambers (Kenneth) of College Park, GA., Danielle Rice, Diane Cheeseboro, and Patricia Orji, all of Bronx, NY, Janelle Cheeseboro of Endicott, NY, Vera McNeil of Brooklyn, NY, 24 nieces and nephews; special friends Shakir Eldred and Esther Bennett; also 2 aunts and 5 uncles. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, NY and a self employed mechanic.
